Nickel Alloy 625 (ERNiCrMo-3) is used for MIG, TIG, and SAW welding of nickel-chromemolybdenum alloys. This very versatile filler metal can be used for welding of dissimilar joints between nickel-chrome-molybdenum alloys and stainless or carbon or low alloy steels. It can also be used for cladding as well as for spraying applications.Nickel Alloy 625 with low iron is preferred in applications where dilution of iron must be controlled to a minimum. The high alloy content of Nickel Alloy 625 enables it to withstand highly corrosive environments. The combination of nickel and chromium provides resistance to reducing conditions. With the addition of molybdenum in this alloy, it also offers resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion.
